Who you are:
We’re looking for a Senior Public Relations Specialist to join our team. The role demands a blend of public relations acumen, exceptional writing proficiency and superior account management skills. We’re seeking a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This individual will help represent public relations for the organization as we grow to serve client needs. This position will report to TriComB2B’s Director of Public Relations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies aligning with client objectives, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
- Handle media relations, internal and external communications, and community outreach.
- Craft compelling press releases, articles, speeches and other content for distribution.
- Secure feature stories, bylines and technical article placements for clients.
- Manage multiple clients concurrently, assessing needs and providing strategic guidance.
- Contribute to building and maintaining the company’s brand image in alignment with its organizational values and mission.
- Build and nurture relationships with journalists, responding in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update each PR client’s media lists, status sheets and editorial calendars.
- Assist clients at trade shows and events, coordinating media outreach and conducting media training.
- Aid in the communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership.
- Monitor, track, assess and report media coverage, proficiently understanding and reporting PR analytics against client objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and communications techniques and share knowledge with colleagues and clients.
- Ensure flawless execution and manage project timelines.
- Adhere to the company’s style guide, delivering high-quality, error-free copy.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to brainstorm content ideas per the company’s strategy and brand initiatives.
- Act as a mentor for junior agency associates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
- Strong portfolio of successful PR campaigns and media placements.
- Project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the abilities to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience leading or supporting PR campaigns for B2B or B2C clients.
- Professional demeanor with excellent verbal skills and the ability to present on various industry topics.
- Previous media relations experience, including pitching local/national/trade media outlets and building media relationships.
- Demonstrated expertise and excellence in copywriting, editing and research, with knowledge of AP style.
- Understanding of social media strategies and a knowledge of current and emerging social media platforms.
- Proficiency with MS Office, photo and video editing, PR software and tools such as Cision, Meltwater, web analytics (Google Analytics) and other AI-related communications tools.
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities with a bias for proactivity and action.
- Strategic and creative mindset.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Preferred experience:
- Experience in an agency setting.
- Experience managing a client relationship.
- Three years of public relations experience in B2B.
