John Buscemi Selected for Leadership Dayton Class of 2010
(VANDALIA, OH) – John Buscemi, Principal of TriComB2B, attended the opening retreat of Leadership Dayton held recently at Miami University, Oxford. One of the members of the Class of 2010, Buscemi is among a host of community representatives who have been chosen to participate in this premier leadership development program.
Sponsored by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Dayton is an 11-month program designed to teach participants through presentations, discussion and direct experiences about every major aspect of community life. These aspects range from education and economic development to criminal justice and cultural arts. More than 800 business and community leaders have completed the program since its inception in 1976.
A regional leadership initiative, Leadership Dayton is open to individuals living and/or working in Darke, Butler, Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby and Warren counties. The program is designed to not only benefit individuals by energizing them to make positive impacts in their communities, but it also is designed to benefit organizations and communities. Participation in the program by an organization’s employees is a demonstration of that company’s commitment to making the Dayton region a better place. Organizations benefit as participants build leadership skills and their organizational effectiveness through exposure to other community leaders and an enhanced understanding of regional issues. Communities benefit from one of the principal goals of Leadership Dayton – a resource of community leadership. During the program year, participants will utilize their collective leadership skills, talents and knowledge to develop and implement a community project. At the conclusion of the program year, program participants join a network of community leaders who can be called upon for assistance on a variety of community issues.
One of TriComB2B’s owning partners (along with Chris Eifert), Buscemi expressed what a privilege it is to be a participant in this innovative regional program. “The city of Dayton has provided me with many personal and professional opportunities over the years,” Buscemi said. “I’m very proud to be part of helping the city continue to enhance the lives of its residents, workforce and visitors.”
