Have you ever wondered how a responsive website works? You know — the ones where you can resize your browser window and watch as the entire website changes before your eyes. It is actually a very simple concept, though the execution is slightly more difficult. If you are a website designer, developer or analyst, you know that the easiest way to make the unemployed line is to look for the simple approach, so let’s get our hands dirty.

I recently attended a series of meetings between our internal team and our search engine optimization partner. The nice thing about sitting through the individual discussions about each of our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) clients is that I heard the current status and future plans for all of them. Because of that, I was able to pick up on some of the key trends that are taking place right now in the mysterious world of SEO.

Let’s start with a question: What is a developer? If you Google the term, you will find something similar to the following:

There has been a lot of talk about a plan to create a personal Internet identification login, officially being called the “Trusted Identity.” At this point details are very hard to come by, and the plan itself is still very vague. That is the question, and oftentimes it shouldn’t be. Disaster recovery is the process and practice of ensuring that your technical infrastructure is backed up in a way that can be restored should disaster occur. Simply put, you will wish you had something in place when you need it. Recent weather and natural disasters should be the perfect reminder to all of us that things can happen without warning.

I returned Saturday, November 6 from the beautiful Breezes Runaway Bay, near Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I avoided Jamaica as a vacation destination because of the bad press due to crime, drugs, and pushy culture, but after a week on the island, I can confidently say the bad is blown out of proportion and I would rather spend my time there than almost all of the other islands I’ve visited in the Caribbean.

Benefit From a GOOD Website

By now, most companies have a website. However, many companies have websites that are subpar for a variety of reasons. Maybe the presentation and organization of information is cluttered, confusing or nonexistent. Maybe the design and functionality are dated. Maybe the content on the website hasn’t been updated since the company opened years ago. The Internet is the largest medium for company research. Does your website leave your customers wanting more, or is it chasing them away?

First off, what is a content management system (CMS)?

A CMS is an application that allows for an organized and collaborative approach to create and edit the content and data on a Web site. It also keeps your data and content completely separate from your Web site. Now, what does this mean to you and your business?
